Levi Jackson Wilderness Road Park is a former state park located just south of London, Kentucky in Laurel County. It is now a city park under the auspices of the city of London, KY. The park encompasses 896 acres (363 ha) and includes a section of the Wilderness Road that early settlers used to reach Kentucky.
Although the Kentucky Horse Park is owned by the Commonwealth of Kentucky, it is administered separately from the Department of Parks and is not a state park. Breaks Interstate Park is also separate, administered under an interstate compact with the state of Virginia , in partnership with the parks departments of both states.

Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park is a park located in northwestern Christian County, Kentucky, just south of Dawson Springs, Kentucky. The park encompasses 863 acres (349 ha) and takes its name from a colloquial form of the word pennyroyal , a small flowering plant native to the area.
It features a 36-room lodge named for Greenup County resident and writer Jesse Hilton Stuart, a 63-site campground with 35 primitive sites, a swimming pool with slides, two tennis courts, an 18-hole miniature golf course, an amphitheater and a scuba refuge area. [2] [3] The lodge contains a 232-seat dining room.
The leased land would be used as a state park dedicated to recreation. The TVA leased an initial 1,146 acres to Kentucky. After the land transfer was officially completed on March 13, 1948, the new park at Aurora Landing was named Kentucky Lake State Park and joined the commonwealth's state parks system. [4]

Rough River Dam State Resort Park is a Kentucky state park encompassing 637 acres (258 ha) [1] on Rough River Lake in Grayson county. Rough River Dam of 1959, stretching 1,590 feet (480 m) across and 135 feet (41 m) high, creates Rough River Lake, a recreational lake of approximately 5,100 acres (2,100 ha).
