On 9 July 2010 it was announced ITV would rebrand GMTV as Daybreak. [1] On 31 August 2010 the new presenting line-up was announced. [2] [3] On 5 December 2011 original presenters Christine Lampard and Adrian Chiles were "axed" from the programme. [4] On 11 June 2012, it was announced the programme would undergo a new look and presenting team. [5]

CITV was broadcast each weekend on ITV Breakfast on weekends originally from 06:00-09:25. In the summer holidays, it was usually cut back to 8.25am. The CITV simulcast came to an end in August 2023, when kids programmes were moved to ITVX and ITV2. On ITV's previous breakfast show, Daybreak, there was a preview of the day's edition of Lorraine on each day at around 07:30 with a chat between the programmes' hosts prior to a handover at 08:30. This preview was originally shown at 08:15 but was moved to an earlier slot in March 2011.
