Kiel (/ k iː l / KEEL, German: ⓘ) is the capital and most populous city in the northern German state of Schleswig-Holstein.With a population of around 250,000, it is Germany's largest city on the Baltic Sea.
In 1927 it helped to organize the Travemünder Woche for the first time and since 1928 the Kieler Woche (Kiel Week) as well. Five years after having been established the club had 343 members and 87 boats; 46 competitions had been organized in which a total of 922 sailcraft took part.
The Type 206 is a class of diesel-electric submarines developed by Howaldtswerke-Deutsche Werft (HDW).Its design is based on the preceding Type 205 submarine class. These small and agile submarines were built during the Cold War to operate in the shallow Baltic Sea and attack Warsaw Pact shipping in the event of military confrontation.
The ship was commissioned on 1 March 1900. Later that year the ship visited Kiel and participated in the Kieler Woche where the German Emperor Wilhelm II made several visits to the ship. [3] On 6 February 1901 Noordbrabant left the port of Flushing for the Dutch East Indies. The ship arrived on 23 March that year in Tanjung Priok.
