The following is a list of neighborhoods and communities located in the city of San Diego. The City of San Diego Planning Department officially lists 52 Community Planning Areas within the city, [ 1 ] many of which consist of multiple different neighborhoods.
University City is a part of District 6, which is represented by Councilmember Kent Lee on the San Diego City Council. The northern half of the community hosts Westfield UTC mall. The commercial real estate market uses this nickname to refer to all the real estate north of the canyon which runs east-west through the middle of the community. [1]
