dissnoops March 25, 2013, 10:13am 11.
Definately try Loyola University Maryland, my son applied and was accepted to both Loyola and Villanova. Villanova is his dream school, but Loyola could easily be his dream school too. Loyola just a little smaller/more compact. The vibe you feel at both schools is very similar.

dtrain1027 March 27, 2017, 6:42pm 5. Boston College and Villanova are essentially the same school, with the same attributes and limitations. The only difference is that suburban Boston location is preferable to suburban Philly location. BC campus is somewhat more attractive than 'Nova, although the new building project at Nova will improve the ...

More than a motto, it is a guiding philosophy for the Villanova community. This is a community where the words “truth” and “justice” are spoken daily, a place where the intellectual and the spiritual come together, where academic rigor and Augustinian wisdom nurture compassionate minds; compassionate minds ready to transform the world.

On the bright side, the Feb 1 deadline allows the applicant to receive most other late EA results. If I recall, BC didn’t do a ton of deferring in their first year of ED, maybe 20% compared to the old 40% under EA, so hopefully you’d get a clear answer one way or the other. Very helpful @evergreen5 Thank you!

    talk.collegeconfidential.com/t/schools-like-villanova...

I am looking for universities with a friendly atmosphere, and a strong sense of community, (such as in Villanova?). I have a 29 ACT, 31 superscored. 1340 SAT. a 3.87 uw, and 4.18 W GPA. I am hoping to get some scholarship money, but it is not mandatory. Also, I am from Illinois so within 900 miles is preferred, (but not mandatory if the school is so amazing) so I can be home more often than ...

Fordham’s aid is almost all merit (they chose me as a Dean’s scholar being in the top 6% of their applicant pool) whereas Villanova’s is mostly need-based. Villanova said its aid was non-negotiable.
If anyone can offer any other opinions, comparisons, or thoughts, I’d greatly appreciate them.
definitely nova
.
