Raaj Kumar (born Kulbhushan Pandit; 8 October 1926 – 3 July 1996) was an Indian actor who worked in Hindi films. [1] In a career that spanned over four decades, he went on to star in 70 films and is regarded as one of the most successful actors of Indian cinema.
Puru Raaj Kumar was born in Bombay, Maharashtra, India to a Kashmiri Pandit father, Raaj Kumar and Gayatri (original name Jennifer), an Anglo-Indian. Gharana (Family) is a 1961 Indian Hindi film that stars Raaj Kumar, Rajendra Kumar and Asha Parekh.It is directed by S. S. Vasan.The film became a box office hit. [1] The film was a remake of the 1960 Telugu film Santhi Nivasam [2] and remade in 1988 as Ghar Ghar Ki Kahani.
