False Confession is an American hardcore punk band, that formed in the early 1980s in the Oxnard, California, area. They are one of the founding members of the " Nardcore " punk movement. Their first 7-inch EP Left to Burn was released by Mystic Records in 1984.

In 1978 in Southern California, the first hardcore punk bands arose, including Middle Class, Black Flag, Vicious Circle, Fear, and the Circle Jerks.Hardcore bands and fans tended to be younger than the art punks of the older LA scene and came mainly from the suburban parts of the Los Angeles area, especially the South Bay and Orange County.

Also in 1982 the band was represented with two titles on the sampler New York Thrash. In the same year the first drummer Superty left the band and was replaced by Patrick Blank (ex-The Undead). Jello Biafra, an avowed fan, arranged a record deal with the Alternative Tentacles label, and their first LP False Prophets was released in 1986. [3]
