The Guitar Rig environment is a modular system, providing capabilities for multiple amplifiers, effects pedals and rack mounted hardware.Primarily designed for electric guitar and bass, the software uses amplifier modeling to allow real-time digital signal processing in both standalone and DAW environments via plug-in (VST/DXi/RTAS/AU).
While the Bluesbreaker and Drivemaster replicated the tones of specific Marshall amps, the Shredmaster was a distortion pedal and replaced the other two pedals' three-band EQ setup with controls for Bass, Treble, and Contour, the last of which altered the character of the midrange while enhancing low and high frequencies.
Marshall currently manufactures a professional, all-valve bass rig called the VBA400. It houses eight 6550 power valves plus three ECC83 and one ECC82 preamplifier valves. The input accommodates both active and passive bass pick-ups; there is also an XLR DI output for recording complete with Earth lift and Pre/Post EQ switches.
