Edson Range is a firing range complex at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, near Oceanside, California. It is named for Marine Major General "Red Mike" Edson , "a World War II Medal of Honor recipient and a distinguished small arms marksman proponent."
The range's highest peaks are Cuyamaca Peak at 6,512 feet (1,985 m), North Peak at 5,993 feet (1,827 m), Middle Peak at 5,883 feet (1,793 m), and Stonewall Peak at 5,700 feet (1,700 m). [3] The San Diego River and the Sweetwater River both have headwaters in the Cuyamacas. The Cuyamaca Reservoir lies adjacent to the east side of the range.

The Laguna Mountains are a popular recreation area in the Cleveland National Forest.They comprise the southernmost crest along the Pacific Crest Trail. [3]Their relatively high altitude induces the highest snowfall in San Diego County making it one of the few local places to offer snow activities like sledding and snowshoeing.
They are bounded on the northwest by San Mateo Creek, on the northeast by Teneja Canyon Creek, on the east by De Luz Creek and on the south by Las Pulgas Canyon. On the southwest they descend into the coastal foothills in the Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton. The range's highest summit is Margarita Peak, at an elevation of 3136 feet. [2]
The Cerro San Isidro, located in Tijuana, is separated from the rest of the range by the border fence and the Rio Alamar, and forms the southern portion of the mountains. The summit of the Cerro San Isidro reaches approximately 2,750 feet (840 m), and supports many of the same endemic and rare plants found on Otay Mountain. [ 5 ]
