The Transportation Safety Bureau of Hungary (TSB, Hungarian: Közlekedésbiztonsági Szervezet, KBSZ) is a government agency of Hungary, headquartered in Budapest. The Minister for Economy and Transport created the agency on 1 February 2006. It investigates air, rail, and marine accidents.
The foundation has been criticized by the European Federation of Journalists and the European Centre for Press and Media Freedom for its close ties to Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán. The news outlets owned by the foundation were acquired or founded by allies of Orbán in the past few years and then donated to the foundation in 2018.
The agency, which governs air, road, railway, and water transport, began operations on 1 January 2007. It had replaced the General Inspectorate of Transport, the Central Inspectorate for Transport, the Local Transport Inspectorates in the counties of Hungary, and the Civil Aviation Authority. [2]
