Gautier was born and raised in New York. After participating in Prep for Prep, she attended the Nightingale Bamford School before graduating from Northfield Mount Hermon. [1] She then attended Stanford, where she earned bachelor's and master's degrees in English literature.
As a teenager, she commuted from Connecticut to Manhattan at 6:00 a.m. every day to attend The Nightingale-Bamford School. [5] After graduating from Nightingale, von Ziegesar attended Colby College. Then she spent a year in Budapest working for a local radio station.
She attended the Brearley School before graduating from the Nightingale-Bamford School. [citation needed] As a student, Gillies struggled with severe dyslexia. She graduated from New York University with a BFA in film. Gillies is the daughter of Archibald and Linda Gillies. [1]
