Is for Karaoke (also known as Relient K Is for Karaoke) is a 2011 cover album by American rock band Relient K.The first seven songs were released on July 28 as Is for Karaoke EP, and on October 4 the remaining songs were released as Is for Karaoke Pt. 2 EP, concurrently with the full-length album.
Forgiven is the first Christian radio single from Relient K's fifth album, Five Score and Seven Years Ago. The song was officially released to Christian radio on 1 December 2006. Forgiven peaked at #13 on the Hot Christian charts. It was the fourth most played Christian Hit Radio song in 2007 according to R&R magazine. [1]
According to lead singer, Matt Thiessen, the album was created with a "Five" theme, as it is the band's fifth album, and for the first time Relient K has five members on an album. The "Seven Years Ago" links with the fact that the group's first album was created seven years prior to the release of this album, making for five albums in seven years.
Warne joined Relient K as the full-time bassist and backing vocalist in February 2005. He contributed to four Relient K projects, and four full-length albums, Five Score and Seven Years Ago, Forget and Not Slow Down, Is for Karaoke, and Collapsible Lung. He also provided back-up vocals for two songs on Relient K's 2004 album Mmhmm.
On February 12, 2017, Relient K digitally released a Valentine's Day EP titled Truly, Madly, Deeply EP. [96] On April 24, 2020, they released Relient K: Live, which combined live tracks from a 2009 show at Rocketown in Nashville and a 2016 show at The Ritz in Raleigh, North Carolina. Since Relient K's early days, Thiessen's main influences have been in the pop punk genre, [6] specifically NOFX, Less Than Jake, Ghoti Hook, MxPx, [5] and Goldfinger. [14] He later introduced influences from Simon & Garfunkel , Ben Folds , and The Beach Boys , [ 6 ] whom he has named as his favorite band. [ 5 ]
"Give Until There's Nothing Left" is the third single from Relient K's fifth album, Five Score and Seven Years Ago. It was released to Christian radio around July 2007, was played as a Top 40 single to a station in Saginaw, MI in early August. The song being a slower one, it was released for contemporary stations, rather than rock stations.
