The 2016 ICC World Twenty20 was the sixth edition of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup, formerly known as the ICC World Twenty20, a Twenty20 International cricket tournament that was held in India from 8 March to 3 April 2016, and was the first edition to be hosted by India.
The 2016 ICC World Twenty20 Final was played at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on 3 April 2016 to determine the winners of the 2016 ICC World Twenty20 between England and the West Indies. [2] The West Indies won the match by 4 wickets, thus becoming the first team to win the ICC World Twenty20 twice. [ 3 ]
The ICC Men's T20 World Cup (formerly the ICC World Twenty20) is a biennial T20I cricket tournament, organised by the International Cricket Council (ICC). It was held in every odd year from 2007 to 2009 , and since 2010 it has been held in every even year with the exception of 2018 and 2020.
They are the joint most successful team along with England and India, having won two titles in 2012 and 2016. [ 1 ] [ 2 ] The team has appeared in every edition of the tournament, and also have been hosts of the 2010 and 2024 editions. [ 3 ]
