The studios are co-located with former sister station KGAN-TV channel 2, near the intersection of Collins Road (Iowa Highway 100) and Old Marion Road NE in Cedar Rapids, in a building known as "Broadcast Park".

The station was known for its "time warp weekends" and long-standing tradition of being heavily involved in the Cedar Rapids community. The station hosted "Uptown Friday Nights" every Friday night in downtown Cedar Rapids. WMT-FM often joined up with WMT for special promotional events, and simulcasts during severe weather conditions.
KGYM (1600 AM) is a radio station broadcasting in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The station is owned by KZIA, Inc., which also owns KZIA (102.9 FM). It is Cedar Rapids' second-oldest radio station, after WMT. [2] KGYM does not broadcast a digital HD signal on its AM frequency of 1600 kHz, but it can be heard in HD on KZIA-HD3. [3]
KWMT was previously co-owned with WMT (600 AM) in Cedar Rapids; because of this, KWMT's call sign represents "WMT" plus a 'K' at the beginning. KWMT broadcasts by day with a power of 5,000 watts. Because 540 AM is a Canadian and Mexican clear-channel frequency, power significantly drops to 170 watts at night.
