The UAE Pro League (Arabic: دوري المحترفين الإماراتي), known for sponsorship reasons as the ADNOC Pro League, [1] is the top professional football league in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The first team to win the title was Al Orouba (Sharjah), whilst Al Ain has the record with 14 league titles to their name.
The Pro League Committee was established in February 2007 with a resolution issued by the UAE Football Association General Committee. It was originally initiated by Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs, with the aim to set a committee to establish a professional league according to the AFC regulations.
Al Dhafra got relegated after losing to Ajman 2–1. This marks the fourth time Al Dhafra got relegated in the top flight with the last time being in 2010–11 season. Dibba Al Fujairah soon followed after drawing 1–1 to Al Dhafra, ending their short spell in the Pro League a year after Dibba Al Fujairah got promoted as division 1 champions.
