KUSI-TV (channel 51) is an independent television station in San Diego, California, United States. It is owned by Nexstar Media Group alongside Fox affiliate KSWB-TV (channel 69). KUSI-TV's studios are located on Viewridge Avenue (near I-15 ) in the Kearny Mesa section of San Diego, and its transmitter is located southeast of Spring Valley .
The San Rafael Fire Department and Marinwood Fire Department have a shared services agreement with SRFD providing Marinwood Chief Officer's services. The department is updating or reconstructing many of its stations. In 2016, plans were released for brand new fire stations 51, 52,a nd 57. Stations 54 and 55 would be dramatically remodeled.
The current SDSC director is Frank Würthwein, Ph.D., UC San Diego physics professor and a founding faculty member of the Halıcıoğlu Data Science Institute of UC San Diego. Würthwein assumed the role in July 2021. He succeeded Michael L. Norman, also a physics professor at UC San Diego, and who was the SDSC director since September 2010.
Engine 51 is known for its time in the 1970s TV show Emergency!. Engine 51 is actually two very different fire engines. Both Engines 51 sit in the Los Angeles County Fire Museum right next to the famous Squad 51.
