Bixby is a rapidly growing city to the south of Tulsa. It had a population of 28,609 at the 2020 census, a 13.70 percent increase from the 2010 census. It also has the largest per capita income in the TMA. Originally an agricultural community known as "The Garden Spot of Oklahoma", it has largely become a bedroom community in the Tulsa area.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 591 sq mi (1,530 km 2), of which 29 sq mi (75 km 2) (4.9%) are covered by water. [4] It is part of the Ozark Highlands.
