The statewide harvest in 2023 was 20% lower than 2022, and 39% lower than 2021. This was likely due to the range-wide boom in production of natural bear foods for the second year in a row, coupled with a very warm opening weekend. The sex ratio of the harvest was ≥60% males in all BMUs, except 22 (BWCA).
