The following is a list of lakes in Oklahoma located entirely (or partially, as in the case of Lake Texoma) in the state. Swimming, fishing, and/or boating are permitted in some of these lakes, but not all.
Lake Overholser is a popular fishing area for local residents. A covered fishing pier is on the southwest side of the lake. Spring Creek Lake is 14 miles (23 km) north of Cheyenne and is 50 acres (20 ha) in size. Sixty-acre (24 ha) Skipout Lake is 10 miles (16 km) west of Cheyenne. A 1.75-mile (2.82 km) hiking trail circles the lake. Lake Marvin in Texas is 63 acres (25 ha) acres in size. All lakes offer fishing, picnicking, and primitive camping sites.
When the park, the lake and the Wildlife Management Area are considered together, the total protected area around the lake is about 20,000 acres (8,100 ha). [5] McGee Creek Natural Scenic Recreation Area is connected to with McGee Creek State Park. Both are a part of the McGee Creek Wildlife Management Area.
The lake is a man-made reservoir used primarily for drinking water for the cities of Norman, Midwest City and Del City, but is also a popular spot for swimming, fishing and boating.
