Ponds Forge International Sports Centre is a leisure complex in Sheffield, England. It has an Olympic-sized swimming pool with 2,600 seating capacity, a family and children's pools (50 m Competition pool and 25 metre diving pit), water slides amongst other facilities. The paddling pools were completely revamped and renamed as the Rivelin Valley Splash in 2013 after consultation with the local population. [5] The changes include a new water filter system, three large splash pads with anti-slip surfacing, a variety of waterplay equipment, such as jets, sprinklers, bucket drops and water tables and ramped access with handrails into the paddling pool. The 1988–89 FINA Swimming World Cup was the first of the series. It took place at eight short course venues in Europe and North America in November 1988 and February 1989. Eighteen swim styles were included for men and women.
