Beckham County is a county located on the western border of the U.S. state of Oklahoma.As of the 2020 census, the population was 22,410. [1] Its county seat is Sayre. [2] Founded upon statehood in 1907, Beckham County was named for J. C. W. Beckham, who was Governor of Kentucky [3] and the first popularly elected member of the United States Senate from Kentucky.
Nick Archer was born in Sayre, Oklahoma, and his family moved to Elk City, Oklahoma, when he was a child. He graduated from Elk City High School and the University of Oklahoma with a bachelor's degree in architecture. He is married to his wife and they have two children. [1]
The luxury hotel faded in popularity after the 1920s, and as a result, the Casa Grande is the only high-rise hotel on Route 66 between Oklahoma City and Amarillo, Texas. [ 2 ] The hotel was added to the National Register of Historic Places on February 23, 1995.
KECO began broadcasting on July 20, 1982; it was a country music station owned by Ronca Broadcasting, [5] a company controlled by Elk City farmer Ron Sewell. Ronca sold KECO to John B. Walton in 1984; Walton had previously been the licensee of KIKX in Tucson, Arizona, which had lost its FCC license and left the air in 1982 after a kidnapping hoax. [6]
