Citi Costco Card isn't considered a regular store card. They use a different algorithm for approval apparently. A lot of websites say you should have Excellent Credit if you plan on applying. From all the research I've done, I'm surprised they approved me. But like you said, it's a store branded card, even if it is a visa.
