Jalebi (also known as Jalebi: The Everlasting Taste of Love) is a 2018 Indian Hindi-language musical romantic drama film directed by Pushpdeep Bhardwaj. It's a remake of the 2016 Bengali language film Praktan. [2] [3] It stars Varun Mitra, Rhea Chakraborty (in her penultimate film) and Digangana Suryavanshi.
"Jalebi Baby" is a Punjabi-English song sung and produced by Canadian rapper, singer-songwriter and producer Tesher, first released on November 13, 2020 by Namah Music Group and Capitol Records. Following the viral success of the track, a remix with American singer Jason Derulo was released on May 28, 2021.
Music of the film was released on 31 May 2011. The soundtrack features the song "Oye Oye", a remake of the song "Tirchi Topiwale" from the 1989 film Tridev. The song "Jalebi Bai" was later used by Canadian artist Tesher in his viral single "Jalebi Baby", the hook being incorporated with some lyrics borrowed from Justin Bieber's song "Yummy".
Tesher and Derulo performed the song live on Today on NBC on July 7, 2021, [21] and released the music video on July 13, 2021. [16] On May 15, 2022, Tesher performed "Jalebi Baby" live with Simu Liu at the Juno Awards of 2022 , at which he also received a nomination for Breakthrough Artist of the Year .
