The Lobster is a 2015 absurdist black comedy drama film directed and co-produced by Yorgos Lanthimos, from a screenplay by Lanthimos and Efthimis Filippou. [5] [6] [7] It stars Colin Farrell, Rachel Weisz, Jessica Barden, Olivia Colman, Ashley Jensen, Ariane Labed, Angeliki Papoulia, John C. Reilly, Léa Seydoux, Michael Smiley, and Ben Whishaw.
Colman also received the Children's and Family Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Performance for her role in the comedy-drama series Heartstopper (2022–present). Colman has collaborated twice with Yorgos Lanthimos. She first starred in the black comedy film The Lobster (2015), for which she won the BIFA for Best Supporting Actress.
Colman was born in Norwich on 30 January 1974, [4] [5] the daughter of nurse Mary (née Leakey) and chartered surveyor Keith Colman. [6] [7] Olivia was privately educated at Norwich High School for Girls and Gresham's School in Holt, Norfolk. Colman's first role was Jean Brodie in a school production of The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie at age 16. [8]
