Bridget Loves Bernie is an American sitcom that aired on CBS from September 16, 1972, to March 3, 1973. The series, created by Bernard Slade, depicted an interfaith marriage between a Catholic woman and a Jewish man.
Meredith Ann Baxter (born June 21, 1947) is an American actress and producer. She is known for her roles on the CBS sitcom Bridget Loves Bernie (1972–1973), ABC drama series Family (1976–1980) and the NBC sitcom Family Ties (1982–1989).
He also co-starred in the CBS television series Bridget Loves Bernie, playing the role of Bridget Steinberg's brother [5] Father Mike Fitzgerald. [6] Sampson also played the recurring role of Sheriff Turk Tobias in the television soap opera Falcon Crest .
Something needs to be added about the controversial cancellation of this series. (No, Bernie did not kill Bridget! That's just some BS someone made up.) The story was that CBS capitulated to the many complaints about the mixed marriage depicted, particularly from Jewish groups. That is, in fact, the most noteworthy thing about the show.
