Cliffs of the Neuse State Park is a North Carolina state park near Seven Springs, North Carolina, in Wayne County covering 1,097 acres (4.4 km 2) [1] along the southern banks of the Neuse River. It has a swimming area, camp sites, hiking trails, fishing areas, and picnic areas.
The community was founded in the 1850s, with the construction of a paper mill on the Neuse River at the site. [6] It was named for the now-submerged Falls of the Neuse, which were the reason for building the mill. The community grew around the intersection of Falls of Neuse Rd (SR 2000), Fonville Rd (SR 2001), and Possum Track Rd. (SR 2002).
As of the 2010 United States census, Neuse Township had a population of 73,617, [1] a 52.6% increase over 2000. Neuse Township, occupying 27.5 square miles (71.2 km 2) [2] in north-central Wake County, is almost completely occupied by portions of the city of Raleigh.
