Allegra's Window is an American musical children's television series that aired on Nickelodeon during its Nick Jr. block from October 24, 1994, to December 8, 1996, [2] [1] with reruns being shown until February 5, 1999; [3] it was later shown on Noggin from February 2, 1999, to April 6, 2003.
From April 1, 2002 to December 30, 2007, the channel devoted half of its schedule (from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.) to preschoolers and the other half (occupied by The N from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.) to its original older audience. From December 31, 2007 and onward, the channel was fully devoted to preschoolers.
Logo used since July 5, 2023 [note 1]. This is a list of television programs currently or formerly broadcast on Nickelodeon's morning block, Nick Jr. from 1988 to 2009 and since 2014 under its current name, 2009 to 2012 under the Nickelodeon Play Date/Play Date name, and 2012 to 2014 under the Weekday Mornings on Nick: The Smart Place to Play name.
On October 24, 1994 (), the Nick Jr. block returned with new on-air branding and premiered two new original series, Gullah Gullah Island and Allegra's Window, resulting in 50% rating gains for the block. Nick Jr. also introduced Face, an animated mascot that introduced shows and interstitials and led into commercial breaks.
Jinkins also created a TV show for the Nick Jr. block, Allegra's Window. Doug ' s success was noticed by Disney executives. In 1996, Jinkins sold Jumbo Pictures to Disney. Disney then developed Disney's Doug (originally Brand Spanking New! Doug) as part of their "One Saturday Morning" lineup.
