Lafayette County is a county located in the north central portion of the state of Florida. As of the 2020 census, the population was 8,226, [1] making it the second-least populous county in Florida. The county seat is Mayo. [2] Lafayette County is a prohibition or partially dry county, allowing retail sales of beer.

NEFLIN, the Northeast Florida Library Information Network, is one of five non-profit library cooperatives committed to serving libraries throughout Florida. NEFLIN formed as a result of librarians in North Florida wanting to collaborate on resources and services for patrons. [ 1 ]
The Dixie County Library is part of the Three Rivers Regional Library System, which also serves Gilchrist, Lafayette, and Taylor counties. It is located at 16328 SE 19th Highway in Cross City, Florida. The branch is open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m. The current library director is Cindy Bellot.
