In 1983, Town & Country Mall opened on Interstate 10 and Beltway 8 in Houston. Prior to its opening, Town & Country was originally supposed to be a magnet for high-end retail tenants, as well as being able to sign on some bluechip anchors, including Neiman Marcus, Marshall Field's, J.C. Crouch End was the junction of four locally important roads. A wooden cross was erected at the junction of these roads, roughly where the Clock Tower now stands, and a small settlement developed around it. Crouch End developed as an early centre of cultivation for Hornsey, and was where the farmsteads seem to have been grouped. [8]

In 2011, Mountview principal Robertson announced plans to relocate to part of Hornsey Town Hall in Crouch End, a stone's throw from Crouch Hill where it was founded, opening there for the 2014–15 academic year. A multi-use regeneration was planned for the Grade II-listed Town Hall and the site to its rear, a £19 million project. [6]
