The portion in Garland County is within the Hot Springs Metropolitan Statistical Area, while the portion extending into Saline County is part of the Little Rock–North Little Rock–Conway Metropolitan Statistical Area. The Passmore House is a historic house at 846 Park Avenue in Hot Springs, Arkansas.It is a large 1 + 1 ⁄ 2-story wood-frame structure, with a seven-bay facade topped by a mansard roof with a crested surround and elaborately styled dormers.
After the Civil War, extensive rebuilding of bathhouses and hotels took place at Hot Springs. The year-round population soared to 1,200 inhabitants by 1870. By 1873 six bathhouses and 24 hotels and boardinghouses stood near the springs. In 1873, Hot Springs became the county seat of the newly formed Garland County.
