The R497 road is a regional road in Ireland which runs north-south from Nenagh, County Tipperary to the N24 in Tipperary Town. The entire route is in County Tipperary and is 57 km (35 mi) long. Part of the road is known as the Anglesey Road, named after the Marquis of Anglesey who gave orders to have it built.
Anglesey made an unsuccessful bid for the 2009 games, led by Ynys Môn MP Albert Owen, in the hope of more than £3m of spending if it had hosted the event. However, Anglesey lacks two needful facilities: a six-lane competition swimming pool and an athletics track. [112] Several precursors to the modern football codes were popular in Anglesey.
The A5025 is an 'A' road that runs from Llanfairpwllgwyngyll to Valley in Anglesey, Wales. A major road around the north coast of the isle, it runs up the east, north and finally north-west side of the island via several places including Benllech and Amlwch. In all the road is 33.1 miles (53.3 km) long.
The closest road is the A545, [2] with a car park from which the island can be accessed via a woodland path. [ 1 ] St Tysilio's , a single-chamber church, is the major feature on the island, [ 1 ] along with its graveyard and a war memorial near the highest point, which was designed by Harold Hughes and was given a grade-II listing in 1997.
Plas Newydd, with the Menai Strait behind. The house site was first occupied in the 13th century and was known as Llwyn-y-Moel. By 1470 it belonged to the Griffith family, who also owned Penrhyn Castle near Bangor. [4]
