»Neon colors« are pretty much impossible to achieve with »CMYK« by definition and that has nothing to do with the newest Photoshop version. Most Adobe software users can keep using outdated spot color palettes and just be careful not to use any newer, not-supported colors. Or they can just use RGB, CMYK or even LAB formulas for defining color values in things like logos and overall branding programs. Print publishing on dead trees is in a very serious state of decline.

The reflected light has the spectral distribution and therefore the color. temperatur of the illuminating light. Thus illuminant D50 reflects D50. and illuminant D65 reflects D65. That's "neutral". Then, the color under D50 in Lab is 50,0,0 and the color under D65 in. sRGB is 119,119,119.
I had a situation where I had to keep the original font (chosen by someone else) and not change/install the font - but still needed to work on with the file. The pink background annoyed me enough to find a way to get rid of it. You can hide the pink background by deselecting Preferences > Type > Highlight Substituted Fonts.
When you look in the Color Picker, you will see a triangle when you pick an out-of-gamut color. Click the triangle to watch the color jump to the nearest printable color. When the filter gallery is open, I saw that in the far right column in the bottom half, there were three effects listed: Film Grain, Neon Glow and Halftone Pattern. All three of these had the "eye" visible. I unchecked the eye from Neon Glow and Halftone, leaving only Film Grain eyed in. The color tone returned to the normal 4-color picture.
Hi @sascha26841088hap6, The Adobe print applications are color managed—the display of an RGB value depends on the document‘s RGB color profile assignment. The application showing the color picker in your screen capture is probably not color managed and is displaying the RGB value using your OS’s Monitor profile.
