Greta oto. ( Hewitson, 1854) Distribution of Greta oto. Greta oto is a species of brush-footed butterfly and member of the subfamily Danainae, tribe Ithomiini, and subtribe Godyridina. It is known by the common name glasswing butterfly for its transparent wings, which allow it to camouflage without extensive coloration.

This is a mistake, because it will foul up the article where the original logo is used as an illustration. Larry the Bird should be a separate upload from the old logo with the word "twitter".

The butterfly at the edge of and in leaved woods, in the early morning found drinking on dewy roads in the woods and at puddles; it becomes more restless at a later hour, flying at a considerable height, is fond of foul-smelling matter (excrements, dung, urine, cheese) and is easily baited with them. The flight is strong and graceful.
