The Ford Parts and Accessories Depot of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada is a historic building in the neighborhood of Huff Bremner Estate. [ 1 ] [ 2 ] In 2006, the building was added to the Edmonton Inventory of Historic Sites on the basis of its " Early Modern architecture in the International Style ".
The Vought F-8 Crusader (originally F8U) is a single-engine, supersonic, carrier-based air superiority jet aircraft [2] designed and produced by the American aircraft manufacturer Vought. It was the last American fighter that had guns as the primary weapon, earning it the title "The Last of the Gunfighters".
Vought is heavily involved in the Boeing 747, Boeing 787 aircraft as well as supplying parts for the F-22 Raptor and F-35 Lightning II and the V-22 Osprey. In July 2003, the Aerostructures Corp., owned by the Carlyle Group and based in Nashville, Tennessee , merged with Vought. [ 2 ]
This Vought F4U Corsair with registration FAH-609 Air Force of Honduras, shot down three aircraft: a Cavalier F-51D Mustang and two Goodyear FG-1D Corsairs of the Salvadoran Air Force 17 July 1969, commanding by Captain Fernando Soto Henriquez. Renamed Light Photographic Squadron SIX TWO (VFP-62) in order to distinguish it from Heavy Photographic squadrons that were being established, the squadron received its first Vought F8U-1P Crusader aircraft in 1959, which were redesignated as the RF-8A in 1962. In 1966, these aircraft were upgraded to a new standard designated as the RF-8G.

The thunderous Can-Am series raced in Edmonton from 1968-1973, where the race was known as the Klondike 200, and the primary sponsor was Molson Brewery. Denny Hulme won all four races from 1968 to 1971, while Mark Donohue won the 1972 and 1973 races driving a Porsche 917 for Roger Penske .
