In July 1863 the Grand Lodge of Oregon granted a dispensation to a Masonic group in Bannock City, now Idaho City. This Lodge was chartered as Idaho Lodge No. 35 in 1864. The Grand Lodge of Washington, which considered all of Idaho Territory to be within its jurisdiction, charged the Grand Lodge of Oregon with illegally chartering the lodge.
West Coast Airlines Douglas DC-3s began service into Idaho Falls in 1951 with Fairchild F-27s. They flew until 1968, when West Coast merged with Bonanza Air Lines and Pacific Air Lines to form Air West which was renamed Hughes Airwest. [23] Air West served Idaho Falls with Fairchild F-27s beginning in 1968, as well as did Hughes Airwest.
In 1990, the Idaho Falls Arts Council was formed as a private, non-profit organization, with the mission to "promote, advocate, and present a broad spectrum of visual and performing arts in Eastern Idaho." In 1994, the old theater's owners, Dick Clayton, Sr. and his son Steve Clayton, donated the theater and adjacent buildings to the Council. [6]
The Idaho Falls Idaho Temple (formerly the Idaho Falls Temple) is a temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Idaho Falls, Idaho. The intent to build the temple was announced on March 3, 1937, by church president Heber J. Grant during the church's general conference .
