St. Joseph's College is a selective-entry Roman Catholic school in Sri Lanka.It was founded in 1896 by French Missionaries led by Rev. Father Christophe Ernest Bonjean.The college has over 4,000 enrolled students with a staff of over 450 as of 2023.
The college was the first branch school of St. Joseph's College, Colombo. The school opened on 10 January 1996 with sixty students. The first Rector was Stanley Abeysekera. [5] The school was constructed on land of 3.2 hectares (8 acres) donated by Esther Seneviratne on 17 January 1991, a member of the Catholic Parish of Enderamulla.
The head of the college, Joseph G. Jayasuriya, became the college's first principal. At that time Marsalin Jayakody wrote the college's current anthem in Sinhala. By then the college had become a Sinhala school. Tamil students were transferred to Vivekananda Vidyalaya and Sahira Vidyalaya. In 1972 the college was established as a Grade 1AB school.

The school was founded on 27 July 1867 by Rev. Fr. Louis Mary Keating. On 1 April 1931 the Roman Catholic Diocese of Trincomalee-Batticaloa handed the school over to the Society of Jesus of the Province of Louisiana.
