Energy provider: Vectren vs. Duke. I took over the utilities at my place of residence at the beginning of the month and, long story short, Vectren has been fucking me at every turn. I don't particularly want to continue giving them my business, and I know that Duke also offers gas service. The only reason I did a split like that was because ...
I noticed today that I got charged for our gas bill that I know I paid last week. I doubled checked our banking statement, the first payment to Vectren was processed. So this new charge (for the same amount) confused me. Then I started looking back....this has happened since December 2021.
Following that rejection, in their 2020 Integrated Resource Plan, Vectren/CenterPoint identified a much more cost-effective energy generation portfolio that focuses more on renewable energy, and this new power plant is a significant part of that.
Is Duke Energy any cheaper than Vectren? Just moved recently and hoping to shop for some better energy prices. Edit for clarity: we recently moved to Warrick County so I think we can get Duke, just wanted to check pricing with anyone who might know.
F*ck vectren, and f*ck vectrens prices. $500 electricity bill makes me even more tired of the monopoly on power in my area. Anyone else? vectren is a mob. do your best to go solar, even though they also make u jump through hoops. Damn and I bitched when my old budget bill was 300.
The vectren bill just about killed me. I know this is news to no one but my energy bill just hit today and it's over twice as much as it was last month. I really hope city council can do something about this because I can (barely) take this hit but there are a lot of people in town who aren't going to be able to take this kind of increase. Add ...
For a normal house expect to lock in savings ~$20/month. Vectren distributes the natural gas. They auction the rights to supply customers each year. The cost is the monthly NYMEX price plus a fixed basis fee. NYMEX Henry Hub is located in Louisiana and is the base price for natural gas across the country.
I assume that Vectren was able to convince the state that those are the actual costs of maintaining and improving the infrastructure. Who else but customers would pay for that? The price of natural gas also seems to be low right now so it seems like one side went up while the other side went down.
I figured this might qualify as Dayton related since they serve our energy needs. Vectren and DP&L each are offering $75 rebates for a smart thermostat, plus NEST has them on sale for $50 off. Just thought I would share. That is a total of $200 off, and if you order directly from Nest it's free shipping.
The lawsuit is against Nicor Energy Services Company, aka Vectren Home Solutions. And Vectren, our actual utility company, gets kickbacks out of the money we will be paying to Vectren Home Solutions. So I don't expect either to have any interest in helping us cancel this thing.
