    I’ve written Merry Christmas and have a happy new year and Happy Christmas and have a Merry New Year. They both work. As for saying it I stick to Merry Christmas. Depending on the person you’re talking to they’re interchangeable and personalised. I have a friend who prefers saying Happy Christmas, so I change it to her way when I see her.
