Meade County is a county located in the U.S. state of Kentucky.As of the 2020 census, the population was 30,003. [1] Its county seat is Brandenburg. [2] The county was founded December 17, 1823, and named for Captain James M. Meade, who was killed in action at the Battle of River Raisin during the War of 1812.

Gerald Allen Lynn (May 28, 1952 – September 6, 2020) was an American politician who served as the Judge/Executive of Meade County, Kentucky from 2011 to 2020. He previously served in the Kentucky House of Representatives from the 27th district from 2005 to 2007. [1] [2] Lynn served in the Kentucky National Guard.

While predominantly a rural agricultural community; Flaherty has a modest business district consisting of a Dollar General store, car wash, banks, and a gas station.
Payneville is a rural unincorporated community in Meade County, Kentucky, United States. It is a small community of 1300 residents that lies 7.5 miles west of Brandenburg on KY 144 at its intersection with KY 376. Located near here are the Payneville Petroglyphs, listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
