The New York Rock and Soul Revue was a musical project supergroup that evolved out of a series of concerts produced and promoted by singer-songwriter Libby Titus at the Lone Star Roadhouse, the Spectrum and other Northeast concert venues, [2] eventually coalescing around unofficial "band leader" Donald Fagen from 1989–1993.
Christian Lee Hutson (born November 5, 1990) is an American singer, musician and songwriter. [2] He began his career as a member of The Driftwood Singers, [3] before signing to ANTI-as a solo artist in 2019. [4]
It was recorded on March 1 and 2, 1991, at the Beacon Theatre in New York City, a favorite venue of organizer Donald Fagen. The performances featured Fagen and included Phoebe Snow , Michael McDonald , Boz Scaggs , Eddie Brigati , David Brigati and Charles Brown .
Driftwood was formed by High School friends Dan Forsyth and Joe Kollar in 2006. [2] The original lineup consisted of Forsyth, Kollar, Jon Doll (Bass), Chris Duddy (Mandolin) and Mike Torres (Drums). In 2008, as Duddy and Torres were leaving the band, violinist Claire Byrne was introduced to Forsyth and Kollar. [3] Shortly thereafter, she joined.
