On April 7, 2013, a two-part hour-long crossover TV special, between Dragon Ball Z, One Piece and Toriko, referred to as Dream 9 Toriko x One Piece x Dragon Ball Z Super Collaboration Special!! aired on Fuji TV. [1] The first part is named "Run, Strongest Team! Toriko, Luffy, Goku!"

Luffy is found on an island beach, where he saves a little girl, Medaka, from two pirates. All the villagers, including Medaka's father, have been abducted by Ganzack and his crew and forced into labour. After hearing that Ganzack also stole all the food, Luffy and Zoro rush out to retrieve it. As they fight the pirates, one of them kidnaps Medaka.

Luffy comes out of the Harusame's mouth and meets Toriko and Komatsu once again. However, Luffy's ship arrives and Toriko and Komatsu find out that Chopper is sick. They decide to find the Seafood Fruit and make Chopper eat it to heal the reindeer. Toriko and Luffy and his crew head off to To-Chuka Island to find the fruit.
In the Mirro-World, Chopper and Carrot find out that the mirrors can tell them where they lead to, and they work on identifying their comrades to the mirrors. Meanwhile, Luffy gets closer to ripping his arms off as Opera prepares to torture Nami for Lola's location. Suddenly, Jimbei arrives and attacks Opera to free Luffy and Nami.
