Affton is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in south St. Louis County, Missouri, United States, near St. Louis. The population was 20,417 at the 2020 United States Census .
Ingram Ridge derives its name from G. A. Ingram, the original owner of the town site. [2] The small community once had a church, [3] and a cemetery. [4] Its elevation above sea level is 266 feet (81 m). [5] It is located in the eastern part of the Pascola township.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 5.90 square miles (15.28 km 2), all land. [4]Webster Groves is bounded to the east by Shrewsbury, on the north by Maplewood, Brentwood and Rock Hill, to the west by Glendale, Oakland, and Crestwood, and on the south by Affton and Marlborough.
Orrin Henry Ingram Sr. was born on June 26, 1904, in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. His father, Erskine B. Ingram, was a lumber heir. [1] His mother was Harriet Coggshall. His parents were members of the Congregational Church. His paternal grandfather three times removed, David Ingram, had immigrated from Leeds, England, in 1780. [2]

The original eight-square-block area is now referred to as "Old Towne Fenton". The city remained unincorporated for the next 130 years. Garrett Hitzert was the city's first mayor after incorporation in 1948, and his leadership helped build the foundation that much of the city's ongoing prosperity has been based on.
