The Bangladesh Computer Society (BCS) is regarded as the leading professional and learned society in the field of computers and information systems in Bangladesh. It was established in 1979. [1] The Bangladesh Government Register no -1638(53)/95. This is also a sister society of IEEE Computer Society. [2]
According to Joint Stock Companies and Firms in Bangladesh, Bangladesh Computer Samity is the first ICT trade association of Bangladesh. [2] In 1993, BCS registered with Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce & Industries as an 'A' category member. [1] And in 1998, they were registered as a member in WITSA. [3]
