Redline (Japanese: レッドライン, Hepburn: Reddo rain, stylized as REDLINE) is a 2009 Japanese animated science fiction film produced by Madhouse and directed by Takeshi Koike in his directorial debut.
Redline is a 2007 American independent racing action-thriller film. The film's plot is centered on a street racing circle funded by a group of multimillionaires who wager millions of dollars over their high-powered sports cars. Redline included support to be played online using the MPlayer.com and Heat.net online services. It was available for play on their demo version even before the game was released. After those companies shut down, servers were moved to GameSpy Arcade. Shortly after release, the publisher, Accolade, was bought out by Infogrames.
Redline has a now-inactive community of dedicated third party developers who once constantly released new cars, tracks, weather settings, challenges, and other plug-ins for the game. As of February 24, 2011, there are over 450 cars and tracks available for download.
