Blondie is an American rock band formed in New York City in 1974 by the singer Debbie Harry and the guitarist Chris Stein. [2] The band was a pioneer in the American new wave genre and scene of the mid 70s. The band's first two albums contained strong elements of punk and new wave.

Later in 1978, Blondie recruited bassist Nigel Harrison, which allowed Infante to switch to guitar full-time. Record producer Mike Chapman has said that he considered Infante to be an "amazing guitarist" and the most technically proficient member of Blondie when he began producing Parallel Lines in 1978. Kessler joined Blondie in April 2010, replacing guitarist Paul Carbonara who had left Blondie during the sessions for their ninth studio album, Panic of Girls, to pursue other projects. Despite playing on only two songs Kessler was credited as a full-time member in the liner notes. He was trained in classical and Latin guitar.
