It is located just south of Cranbrook. [1] The Jimsmith Lake Provincial Park is spread over an area of 13.70 hectares. Forests of Douglas fir, also known as the Colombian Pine, and larch cover the lake shore. The park is popular haunt for picnickers and visitors from the nearby city of Cranbrook. The park has some 35 camping sites.

Sleeping in tents, Bible camps were held at the lake in the 1920s. The Anglicans held day camps during the 1930s and early 1940s. The Presbyterians acquired a property in 1948 and erected camp buildings. Camp Wasa closed in 1974, and the property was later subdivided. [21] Unable to secure a postmaster, the post office was closed 1934–1968. [16]

Cranbrook (/ ˈ k r æ n b r ʊ k / KRAN-bruuk) is a city in southeast British Columbia, Canada, located approximately 10 km southwest of the confluence of the Kootenay River and the St. Mary's River. [6] It is the largest urban centre in the region known as the East Kootenay.
Norbury Lake Park covers an area of 97 hectares (240 acres) [1] and is located in the East Kootenay region of British Columbia, approximately 16 kilometres (9.9 mi) south of Fort Steele. [2] It is situated in the Rocky Mountain Trench , with views of the Hughes Range , [ 3 ] including The Steeples to the immediate east.
