Animation Domination (also called AniDom, Fox AD, and AD) is an American animated programming block that has aired in two iterations on the Fox broadcast network, featuring a lineup solely made up of prime-time animation and adult animation carried as a majority of, or the whole of, the network's Sunday evening schedule (outside of sports pre-emptions and early hour programming burn offs). The Sunday Funday block was created to replace Fox's Animation Domination block, acknowledging that the Sunday primetime schedule was no longer fully made up of animated shows. The block's final show was American Dad! , of which was the final episode to air on Fox before moving to TBS on September 21, 2014. [ 1 ]
On October 8, 2013, Fox removed the unaired series Murder Police without airing a single episode. In 2014, Fox canceled American Dad! (which moved to TBS) and stopped using the Animation Domination branding. It was brought back in September 2019 when Bless the Harts debuted, which was renewed for a second season in October 2019.
After two episodes had aired, the series' original 8:30 timeslot was moved to 7:00 due to low ratings. [2] After the fourth episode aired, the fifth and final episode of what was to be the initial run of Sit Down, Shut Up, was pulled from the Sunday Animation Domination lineup due to what was speculated as continued low ratings.
