Detroit Lakes is a city and the county seat of Becker County, Minnesota, United States.The population was 9,869 at the 2020 census. [4] Its unofficial population during summer months is much higher, estimated by citizens to peak at 13,000 midsummers, due to seasonal residents and tourists.
Detroit Lake is a lake, locally known as Big Detroit and Little Detroit, has two distinct basins that are separated by a shallow gravel bar. The county terrain consists of low rolling hills, tree-covered and dotted with lakes and ponds. [8] The terrain slopes to the west and north. Its highest point is a hill 2.1 miles (3.4 km) northeast of Wolf Lake, the site of the USFS Wolf Lake lookout tower, at 1,861 ft (567 m) ASL. [9]

Adventure Golf (1992–2012) – Two upcharge 18-hole mini-golf courses, a part of the Challenge Park located near the front of Valleyfair. Its last operating season was 2011, and it was closed to the public during the 2012 season. The area was replaced with Valleyfair's catered event area, named Picnic Point.
Detroit Lakes Airport covers an area of 288 acres (1.17 km 2) and contains two runways designated 13/31 with a 4,500 x 75 ft (1,372 x 23 m) asphalt surface and 17/35 with a 1,880 x 250 ft (573 x 76 m) turf surface.
