Rockwall is a city in the U.S. state of Texas and the seat of Rockwall County. Heath is located in southwestern Rockwall County. A small portion of the city—0.31 square miles (0.79 km 2)—extends south into Kaufman County. [8] According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 10.7 square miles (27.7 km 2), of which 10.56 square miles (27.36 km 2) are land and 0.14 square miles (0.35 km 2), or 1.27%, are water.
State Highway 276 (SH 276) is a Texas state highway that runs from Rockwall east to Emory. This route was designated on July 25, 1960, between Rockwall and Quinlan, replacing FM 1143 and part of FM 35. SH 276 was extended to its current terminus on October 25, 1990, replacing most of FM 35.
The Illinois side includes Henry County, Mercer County, and Rock Island County. [4] In extreme northwestern Illinois the Driftless Zone, a region of unglaciated and therefore higher and more rugged topography, occupies a small part of the state. Charles Mound, located in this region, is the state's highest elevation above sea level.
The highway continues to the north through Rockwall along Goliad Street. Near the town square, SH 205 runs along a pair of one-way streets with northbound traffic traveling on Goliad Street and southbound on Alamo Road, intersecting SH 66 in downtown. Leaving the downtown Rockwall area, the highway becomes a two-way road again.
