The architectural project began in 1979 , and during the early 1980s three houses were built: one each in Kissimmee, Florida ; Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin ; and Gatlinburg, Tennessee .

"The Metz House" was featured in Xanadu: The Computerized Home of Tomorrow (ISBN 0-87491-701-8) describing its similarities to the Xanadu House.
